Fury Towards The Burning Heaven - Chapter 124: Chaotic Melee

Chapter 124: Chaotic Melee

One hundred miles away from the area underneath the golden pagoda, a massive group was advancing swiftly. They had obviously noticed the unusual commotion that was a hundred miles away. The way that the Fire Spirit Rock emerged was much too dominant; that blazing presence could even be slightly felt from where they were.

“Swish!”

A scout came running from a distance and knelt in front of the two well-dressed young masters while he reported loudly, “Your Highness, Young Master Zhangsun. Three treasures dropped out of the sky over there. It led to a contest between many individuals. The chaotic melee now has at least over a thousand people.”

“En?”

Jiang Yiliu and Zhangsun Wuji looked at each other and were both curious. They initially didn’t have any intentions to search for treasure. Once they got to know that Jiang Yi was eliminated and that Su Ruoxue was seized, Jiang Yiliu didn’t even rest for a moment, asking the group to rush over to Gu Shanhe’s side. They were just about to meet up with Gu Shanhe’s group now.

Now that a few treasures actually incited a chaotic melee between so many people, the two of them couldn’t help but feel the temptation. Regular treasures weren’t something that both of them regarded, but if it was a heaven-tier or saint-tier artifact, then they would naturally want a share in it.

Jiang Yiliu looked around and noticed that the Iron Blood Guards weren’t tempted, but those cadets and clansmen who followed the two of them—they all revealed a yearning expression. He muttered to himself before giving an order, “All of us will be going over there. Send the message to Gu Shanhe to bring his men and rendezvous with us! I would like to see what kind of treasure made so many people fight for it.”

“Let’s go!”

Zhangsun Wuji got excited, too. He gestured with his hand for the clansmen from the Zhangsun Clan to sprint over to where the treasure landed.

“Hoo, finally burned through!”

In the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch, Jiang Yi looked at a small hole underneath his feet. Looking through the hole, he exhaled a long breath after seeing the blurry scenery.

He had used up 20 pieces of the Fire Spirit Rock, and it was a heartache to him. These rocks were great items that could even scorch through the restrictions set by the Heaven Monarch of Ten-Thousand Dragons. What else was there that it couldn’t burn through? There was a total of 60 pieces of Fire Spirit Rock, but a single use depleted it by a third.

“Oh, that’s right!”

Jiang Yi suddenly recalled something, his eyes brightening up at the thought. If this Fire Spirit Rock was able to burn through the restriction on the ground, then wouldn’t it be able to burn through the restrictions on the treasures? If he could find a flight-type treasure, wouldn’t he be able to fly down from the pagoda with ease?

Once he reached this conclusion, Jiang Yi’s heart was blazing with excitement. He began to look around, searching for a treasure that had the same flight ability as Jiang Yiliu’s Ancient Divine War Chariot.

It was just that…

There were over a hundred treasures here, but not one of them was similar to the Ancient Divine War Chariot that Jiang Yiliu had—as most of them were weapons. Jiang Yi scanned over and over before he finally fixed his gaze on the jade boat that was hung on the left wall.

This jade boat wasn’t huge and would probably allow a single individual to stand on it. Its entire body was made of sparkling and translucent white jade; it was emitting a gentle glow from. It seemed like, among all the treasures here, only this item was slightly related to flight.

“How do I shoot the Fire Spirit Rock onto the jade boat?”

Jiang Yi was rather worried; he didn’t dare touch such a blazing hot item like the Fire Spirit Rock. What’s more, if he was unable to control it, the Fire Spirit Rock would just drop onto the ground and vanish after losing all the energy.

“I’ll just do it!”

Since he was going to die if he jumped down like this, Jiang Yi decided to put all his hope on the Fire Spirit Pearl. If this Fire Spirit Pearl was able to transfer an unknown power for Jiang Yi to not fear the heat from the Fire Spirit Rock, then theoretically… he should be able to touch the Fire Spirit Rock.

“Buzz!”

The Fire Spirit Pearl flashed, and a piece of the Fire Spirit Rock appeared. Jiang Yi revealed a determined expression and reached out a finger to flick the Fire Spirit Rock with lightning speed.

“As expected!”

When Jiang Yi’s finger approached the Fire Spirit Rock, he didn’t feel a hint of the blazing heat. It was as though he was naturally immune to fire after he refined the Fire Spirit Pearl. When his finger flicked on the Fire Spirit Rock, it felt like he was flicking a normal rock.

“Swish!”

As the Fire Spirit Rock was shot towards the jade boat, it suddenly burst out with green flames; and Jiang Yi’s eyes were currently shining as bright as a star.

“Buzz!”

Suddenly, the jade boat that was hung on the wall began to sparkle with white light. The jade boat then slid off from the stone wall, crashing onto the ground.

“Success!”

Jiang Yi was bursting with joy, but when he calmed down and looked, he was flabbergasted! This jade boat actually had a hole burnt through it. It was originally glistening with divine light, but it was now dull and dimmed due to the obvious damage from the scorch. The Fire Spirit Rock was now shot into the stone wall and still burning it, creating a small hole in the wall.

“Damn!”

Jiang Yi nearly vomited blood from the frustration. This was a numinous-, heaven-, or saint-tier item, right? How could it be damaged so easily?

He walked over with heartache and picked up the jade boat to take a closer look. He even tried pouring his essence force and black essence force, but there was no response. This treasure was actually ruined by the flames of the Fire Spirit Rock.

“What should I do now?”

Jiang Yi lamented and sighed at wit’s end. If he didn’t use the Fire Spirit Rock, there was no way to expel the restrictions on the treasures; but once he used the Fire Spirit Rock, the treasure would be destroyed!

Seeing how valuable this Fire Spirit Rock was, Jiang Yi didn’t dare to use it recklessly. He ultimately stared blankly and worriedly at the blurry scenery through the hole beneath him.

“It doesn’t matter! Since the spirit energy is so dense here, let me cultivate to the seventh stage of the Cast Tripod Realm first. If there is no other choice, I will just jump and leave my fate to the heavens!”

Muttering to himself irresolutely, Jiang Yi set his heart and began to cultivate near the entrance of the hole. He consumed an Earth Essence Elixir and enhanced it with his black essence force before he began to cultivate quickly.

He was originally about to break through to the seventh stage of the Cast Tripod Realm; he naturally wouldn’t let such a good cultivate condition go to waste. With more strength, it would mean he had a higher survival rate if he was to jump.

In just over four hours, Jiang Yi opened his eyes. He, who was already on the verge of breaking through, finally broke through to the seventh stage of the Cast Tripod Realm with extreme speed.

“Time to jump! I will find another opportunity to enter again and bring all these treasures out!”

Jiang Yi took another glance of the small hall and went through it in detail, making sure there was nothing else he could bring along. He let out a regretful sigh and headed towards the hole, ready to put his life on a bet.

The distance from here to the ground was at least 10,000 feet. His physical defenses weren’t all that great, and the only way he could survive was to use his Exploding Essence Palm right before he hit the ground, using the rebounding force to decrease his descending speed. But… could he be certain that he could survive the huge forces from the Exploding Essence Palm?

Standing outside of the entrance, Jiang Yi hesitated. A moment later, his eyes flashed with resolution as he was about to jump down.

“Swish!”

Just at this timing, a subtle air-piercing sound came from below. Jiang Yi paused and glanced downwards but could only see a blurry black dot.

“Black essence force!”

Jiang Yi channeled a wisp of the black essence force to his eyes and focused on the small black dot. As he looked, his eyes instantly widened; and killing aura was released from his body.

“Ancient Divine War Chariot? Jiang Yiliu!”

Right below him was an Ancient Divine War Chariot that was floating in mid-air. Such a rare item that appeared within the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch, it was obvious that this must be Jiang Yiliu’s Ancient Divine War Chariot.

“An opportunity!”

Jiang Yi’s eyes turned, and he quickly thought of a great idea. He headed back into the hall and grabbed that ruined jade boat. He came back to the entrance of the hole and used his legs to clamp tight on the jade boat before he jumped off.

“Bang!”

As his body was going through the hole, he extended his arms and grabbed onto the sides of the hole. With his body stuck and his legs clamped on the jade boat, he suspended the treasure in the air.

He wanted to lure a fish, and the jade boat was the bait. As for the fish… it was naturally Jiang Yiliu!

As long as Jiang Yiliu was attracted and steered his war chariot over, he would release his body and jump onto the chariot.
