Fury Towards The Burning Heaven - Chapter 123: Paralyzing Half of the Body
Chapter 123: Paralyzing Half of the Body
“Tsk-Tsk!”
The small rock was still fuming with flames when it was within the ground and continued to scorch downwards. Anything that the green flames touched—like the stone beneath that kept on radiating with white light—would soon be burned into the void. It was obvious how terrifying this flame was.
After several breaths, the flames on the rock gradually dissipated, and the rock turned into dust. The hole in the ground was as wide as a head and as deep as five to six feet down!
“Incredible!”
Jiang Yi was amazed. Had it not been for the ineffable energy that came from within the red pearl that helped cool his body down, Jiang Yi might have been turned into dust by this blazing heat, right?
“This is really a spatial divine item just like the Ancient Divine Essence Ring. But I wonder what kind of artifacts are those red shards within the pearl? It actually possesses such power? To even burn through the restrictions placed by the Heaven Monarch of Ten-Thousand Dragons?”
Jiang Yi stared blankly for a long time and couldn’t calm the excitement in his heart. He looked into that small hole as though he was looking at a smiling angel. If he didn’t get it wrong, this Tomb of the Heaven Monarch was definitely the suspended golden pagoda in mid-air. If he was able to burn through the ground here, he would be able to escape with ease.
“Yes… this pearl is able to recognize the owner and even transfer its energy to protect the owner. Since it has its own spirit, I shall name it Fire Spirit Pearl. As for the fearsome rock, it shall be called the Fire Spirit Rock!”
Jiang Yi nodded, and his eyes shone with light. He chanted in his heart to the rock that was within the Fire Spirit Pearl and shouted, “Come out! Fire Spirit Rock!”
“Buzz!”
The fiery red shared appeared in front of Jiang Yi again. With the appearance of the rock, the temperature within the hall rose sharply. Had it not been for the Fire Spirit Pearl in Jiang Yi’s hand, he would have been turned into dust.
The Fire Spirit Rock dropped downwards and into the hole that was made earlier. Once it got in contact with the ground, it released green flames and began to scorch the surface of the ground and the restrictions.
Several breaths later, the Fire Spirit Rock vanished, and the hole got deeper by another five or six feet.
“Not through yet? Again!”
Jiang Yi looked into the small hole and took out another Fire Spirit Rock to continue burning the hole. After using four pieces of Fire Spirit Rock, the small hole was now more than 20 feet deep, but it had yet to burn through the ground!
“Did I guess it wrongly? Am I not in the golden pagoda that is suspended in mid-air? If below this grand hall is nothing but rocks, then… goddammit!”
There weren’t much of the Fire Spirit Rocks left. After a quick count, Jiang Yi was just left with around 60 of them. If he wasn’t in mid-air or if the thickness of the ground was several hundreds of feet, then this amount of Fire Spirit Rock wasn’t going to be sufficient.
“Let me try this again!”
Jiang Yi’s eyes flickered for a few times as he muttered to himself. He took out another piece of Fire Spirit Rock and dropped it into the small hole again.
“Tsk-Tsk!”
As the Fire Spirit Rock released the green flame and burned the ground and the restriction, the subtle burning sound made Jiang Yi’s heart tensed up.
Suddenly, the Fire Spirit Rock descended with speed, and Jiang Yi could clearly see a ray of light from the other side of the hole. He smelled a presence of fresh air and instantly revealed an ecstatic expression while exclaiming, “It’s through!”
Jiang Yi got it right: he was indeed in the golden pagoda that was floating in mid-air. But this pagoda was currently invisible, and no one could see it.
But at this moment, the Fire Spirit Stone scorched through the pagoda and flew out from the bottom, immediately shocking countless people. The moment the Fire Spirit Rock emerged, the entire surrounding turned blazing hot. Majority of the people saw an item appearing from mid-air? It was spewing with green flames which made everything above it boil. Could it be that… the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch was shooting out treasures again?
As that piece of Fire Spirit Rock wasn’t burning the restriction anymore, the energy within the rock seemed to dissipate much slower? Even as it approached the ground, the flame had yet to burn out.
“He!”
A Purple Mansion Realm martial artist hurried over here, thinking that it was an absolute treasure. His body jumped up with joy, but… as he jumped up, he immediately regretted doing so. When he was about 70 or 80 feet away from the Fire Spirit Rock, he could feel a horrific and surging heat wave that almost suffocated him.
He fearfully wanted to avoid it, but in just a blink of the eye… his body was immobilized. The speed of the falling Fire Spirit Rock was too fast, and before he could even let out a miserable scream, his entire body was immolated into nothingness—not even the ashes remained.
“Tsk Tsk!”
As the Fire Spirit Rock continued to fall, it finally sunk into the ground, creating a pit that was tens of feet deep. When the nearby martial artists came searching, they couldn’t find anything.
Most of the people came over here because they were alerted. The ones who arrived first had been surrounded. They thought that artifact was shot with the horrific flames and must definitely be a heaven artifact or sacred artifact. But the group that arrived first would naturally be the one who obtained the artifact.
A chaotic melee burst out, and there were more individuals that were rushing over. When they saw the close quarters fight in front of them, they would either stand afar and observe or join the chaotic melee.
“Eh?”
Thirty minutes later, the sky turned blazing hot once again, an object that was spewing with green flames came dropping from the sky again. The odd thing was that no one could see the golden pagoda that was floating in the sky.
“Absolute treasure!”
Countless people exclaimed. How could an item that could spew such horrific flames be an ordinary object? A heaven-tier artifact would at best be able to let out a brighter radiance.
Everyone nearby was completely tempted. Most people who stayed hidden headed towards where the Fire Spirit Rock would land. As the Fire Spirit Rock was 100 feet from the surface, seven or eight Purple Mansion Realm martial artists all burst up and surged towards the Fire Spirit Rock.
“Ah—!”
Soon enough, this group of individuals all began to scream miserably. A few of them couldn’t even escape in time and was burnt to death intense heat from the rapidly falling Fire Spirit Rock. That Fire Spirit Rock dropped straight down and ultimately burned over a dozen martial artists to death. Three martial artists were immolated into nothingness.
“…”
The hundreds of people that observed from afar looked at one another in the eyes. Even though the Fire Spirit Rock had landed and created a deep pit in the ground, no one dared to move towards it!
The energy of the Fire Spirit Rock was quickly depleted. When that blazing heat dissipated, the martial artists woke up after realizing something. They held their weapons in their hands and frantically dug into the ground, in hopes of finding the landed treasure.
A chaotic melee happened again. No one wanted the other to obtain the treasure: whoever dared to dig for the treasure would be killed by the one beside them! A massacre that was inevitable begun once again.
Just because Jiang Yi used two Fire Spirit Rocks to burn through the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch, the entire vicinity had turned into a human-world purgatory!
For anyone who came here, who didn’t desire for the absolute treasure from the Heaven Monarch of Ten-Thousand Dragons? Who wasn’t ready to risk their lives? Now that the ‘absolute treasure’ appeared before them, they would naturally be forsaking their lives to fight for it.
Another 30 minutes passed, and the sky once again had a falling item that was spewing flames. This time, it created a bigger commotion. Within the few hundred miles, all the martial artists gathered here in a hurry. They all wanted to see what the falling items were and what kind of absolute treasure it was.
“Almost there! One more time, and it will be enough for me to tunnel my way out.”
Jiang Yi, who was within the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch, didn’t know what was happening outside and was constantly burning through the limestone in the ground of the grand hall. Right now, he had enough space to tunnel out, but he was worried that he would get stuck. He endured the heartache and used another Fire Spirit Rock to widen the hole a little.
He was one step closer to escaping this place, but there wasn’t a hint of happiness on Jiang Yi’s face; there was an expression of anxiety instead. This golden pagoda was close to 10,000 feet above the surface. If he was to jump down like this, would his body crash, paralyzing half of the body?
