Chapter 32: Gathering (2)
Perform?
Fight?
Hearing the two words, Su Han looked at his clothes as his face flushed red. It was then he realized that it was highly possible that the two representatives were going to ask them to fight. After all, what kind of world is this?
This is a cultivation world!
In this world, only the strongest reign!
If the representatives wanted to test their power and asked them to fight, they would have to fight even if they were wearing brand new clothes. At that point, no one would care how much their hearth ached to have their specifically tailored clothing be used to fight on the very first day.
"At the very least, I look good!" Su Han reb.u.t.ted, trying to find a point where he could win.
Lin Xiao merely looked at Su Han and shook his head. Only an idiot would care how they looked like in this kind of place. Though, Lin Xiao had to admit that Su Han stuck out like a sore thumb with his way of dressing.
He was the only one looked neat in this place.
"What? You dont think that way? If you look bad, the impression you give will be less than what I can possibly give….!"
Internally, Lin Xiao was sure that as long as one performed much better than what the others could possibly perform, they would stick out much more than their appearance. However, he chose to stay silent.
"Everyone, silent!"
The moment the elders gave their instruction, everyone no longer talked amongst themselves. They solemnly looked into a distance as a figure slowly came to their direction. Everyone stayed stiffly and no one dared to make unnecessary noise anymore.
Lin Xiao couldn't see the front from his position and height. He turned to look at Lin Yun, who was taller than him by a few centimeters.
"I can't see anything too," Lin Yun whispered.
"Forget it."
The two of them were considered short for 15 years old boys, so they chose not to push their luck. Hopefully when they finally managed to eat to their fill every single day, they would be able to grow much taller than now.
The villagers were not purposely blocking the way, but everyone were excited to see the new people who would come. From his position, Lin Xiao could only see a few villagers stood at the back. They also didn't like the three elders' decision to get other sect came here, but they were not brave enough to speak up.
Right now, they were only watching from a distance without any intention to speak up at all.
The sound of horse step on the ground could be heard. Lin Xiao arched his eyebrows. Those people from the sect sure knew how to stand out by traveling with horses. As cultivators, it was easy for them to travel distance by running due to their superior physical skill.
However, some people still used horses. While there were many instances where the horses would be slower than cultivators, they used it to show their status. Only those who were wealthy and have power could have horses. In addition, there were some type of animals that could get stronger with training and tamed. Some types of horses were included in this number.
Raising his head, Lin Xiao finally managed to see through the gap and could see a total of six horses came. Three people on top of the horses were already middle aged while the other three were still youngsters. The representative might have brought along their disciple to come here.
'They plan to show off?'
The disciples behind the people gave off powerful feeling. Even though they looked young, only at teenage, the villagers didn't dare to get close to them. There were faint suppressive feelings that they got from those people.
"Welcome to our humble village," Elder Su greeted with a fawning smile. "I'm one of the three elders in this village with surname Su."
The man at the front nodded. He was wearing purple robe with silver lining at the edge. Even though he didn't speak anything, he looked powerful that no one dared to come closer to him.
"I'm Liu Gang from Yun Liu Sect," the man introduced himself. "You shall call me Representative Liu."
Behind him was a woman who looked like in her mid-twenties. She had fair skin and rosy red lips. Just one look from her was more than enough to swoon many of the men's heart. Her beautiful light pink dress fluttered along with the slight wind as she stopped her horse movement. Her eyes fluttered lazily as she waved her hand.
"I'm from w.a.n.g Luo Sect, you can just call me w.a.n.g Luo Sect Representative."
The third man near the woman arched his eyebrows. He could sense that the woman didn't deem anyone from this village worthy enough for her to introduce herself. Well, he himself also thought the same.
His appearance didn't seem to be that different from the others. Dressed in white robe, he had refined look that could easily make one think of him as a scholar. He glanced to the three elders' direction and nodded his head.
"I'm from Yue Da Sect."
His curt answer also showed that he didn't have favorable impression of this small village. As a fairly remote area, the village didn't really have anything that looked attractive to these three. The only reason they willingly came here was simply because the elders in their respective sect ordered them to come.
If not for the order, no one would want to come here.
