Chapter 299 : Nade's mother thought about it, and said "I will have to talk about that wit
Soon the doors opened, and they both entered. Nade's mother and father entered the kitchen, but Nade's father stayed a bit behind. I smiled, and said "Come have a sit. You don't have to be all formal with me". He shook his head, and replied "It's fine, I will stand. My wife told me, that you can help our son. Is that true?". I nodded, and replied "Yes. It's not going to be that difficult, but some pain will be involved".
He immediately replied "Do it! If our son can have a normal life, I'm sure he can take some pain. Even though we are farmers, we still belong to Savala Village!". I nodded my head, and said "Come here Nade". Nade walked over, and asked "Is this going to be really painful?". I replied "I will be painful, but just bare with it. It shouldn't take me that long". Nade nodded, and said "Alright". I said "Take off your s.h.i.+rt and pants". Nade complied without any complaints, and took his s.h.i.+rt, as well as pants off. With quick movements, I tapped some pressure points and left the body swell up a bit. Nade tried to hold in the pain, but was unable to and started shouting lightly. I said "Relax Nade, it will be over soon". When the swelling reached the appropriate stage, I tapped on a few other pressure points. The swelling intensified, until "puk" sound could be heard, and the swelling started to decrease.
Nade lost his consciousness due to the pain, and was about to fall. I caught him, and said "It is done. He will be weak for a while, but after he rests, he will notice the change immediately". I then took out some Arran Liquid, and smeared it around his body. Nade's mother came over and took Nade from my hands. She asked "Is he really alright?". I nodded, and said "Don't worry. He is just unconscious, when he wakes up, he will be back to himself". She nodded, and said "Thank you. Although there is a doctor in Savala Village, he was unable to do anything to Nade. You managed to cure him in a matter of minutes. We are really thankful".
I replied "Don't mention it. I'm glad I could help". I then turned towards Nade's father, and asked "Can we go see the field now?". He was still stunned, until he heard my question and snapped out of it. He said "Sure, let's go. I didn't know what size field you wanted, so I prepared a middle sized one". I nodded, and said "It's fine, whatever you have, I will take". We went outside of the house, and arrived at an empty field. As he mentioned, it was a decent size. I could use that no problem.
He said "The field has some weeds still, but I can take care of..". Before he finished, I said "No need. I know how to work in the fields". He nodded his head, and said "You are indeed different boy, if you don't mind me saying that". I smiled and said "I don't consider this to be a lowly job. All jobs are necessary. If not for you, what would the village eat? Your job is quite important". He smiled, and said "Thank you. If you need any tools, the shed next to the house, has all of them. Feel free to use them, as much as you like". I nodded, and said "Thanks, I will manage by myself, you can go back to your own matters". He nodded, and left.
Although what I said was true, it was also untrue. Villages were mostly dependant on farming. But because this was a special village, they could easily hunt loads of animals. 'Although, this would depopulate them over time. To feed such a village, loads of meat would be needed, especially through the winter. The harvested crops don't spoil that quickly, and can be eaten during every season' I thought. I imagined that even big cities would need farming.
Leaving those thoughts behind, I said to myself "Time to go to work". I began by cleaning the field, and then tried to find some fertiliser. I found it in another building, that stood at the fringes of the farm. Reason was obvious to me. Smell. There was a cart available, so I took it and filled it with the fertiliser. With my field fertilised, I watered it, and let it absorb the water. 'I should probably create the water delivery system here too. I also need to separate the field into sections. Having a small shack in the middle, will be also useful' I thought.
There was much to do, so I didn't linger, and went to work. I first built a shack. This was not that difficult. as I had most of the tools available to me. The village was next to the forest, therefore I didn't lack the materials either. 'I will need more nails. The amount of them inside Nade father's shed, is quite low already' I thought. I decided to go back to the village, and ask someone over there. I asked the first person, I encountered on the street "Hey. Can you tell me, where I can get some nails?".
The villager was a bit surprised, and asked "Nex? Why would you need nails?". I replied "I'm making some stuff, and need quite a few of them". The guys said "You will have to ask Gerond for that. He should be able to provide them". I nodded my head, and thanked him. Gerond was the blacksmith in the village, and I already knew where the workshop was. I went straight over there, and asked Gerond who was working away. "Hey. Can I get some nails? I need quite a few of them".
Gerond stopped his work, and replied "Hi Nex. If you are after nails, then I have some in stock. How many do you need?". I asked "How many do you have?". He replied "Hmmm... Let me check". He went over to some storage area, and checked. He returned shortly, and said "Around a 1000". I replied "I will need all of them". He nodded, and said "Alright, I will get them for you". He packed the nails into a bag, and handed them to me. I asked "How much do I owe you?".
He smiled, and said "Nothing. Not only are you Wintersteed, we don't really use currency here". I replied "Then let me give you this", and handed him a bottle of Arran Liquid". He asked "What is this?". I replied "It's medicine. If you are ever injured, drink it, or smear it over the wound", Gerond nodded, and said "Thanks".
I returned to the field, and prepared to make the water delivery system. The day quickly pa.s.sed, and I retired for the night. Back at Finch's house, Tina asked "Are you hungry? You've been out for a whole day". I shook my head and said "I'm fine. I ate some of the meat I had. I will just go back to my room". She nodded, and said "Goodnight". I replied the same, and decided to hit the bed early.
