Fury Towards The Burning Heaven - Chapter 112: Secret Art of Judgment
Chapter 112: Secret Art of Judgment
The Ten-Thousand Dragon Valley was a famed location in the continent. Not only because of the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch, but because several tens of thousands of years ago, it was also where a formidable demonic beast resided: the tier-four demonic beast, Blue Winged Dragon.
As the name suggested, the Ten-Thousand Dragon Valley had tens of thousands of dragons here; and it was once the main camp of the dragon-type demonic beasts. The Heaven Monarch of Ten-Thousand Dragons liked the fengshui 1 of this place and decided to slay the Blue Winged Dragon and build a tomb. This made the fame of the Ten-Thousand Dragon Valley gain more prestige.
The Ten-Thousand Dragon Valley was massive, and it was a refuge of plenty dragon-type demonic beasts. Right now, none of these dragon-type demonic beasts dared to show their faces. Not only because there were too many martial artists from the three vassal kingdoms, but there were also treasure seekers that were from the other three vassal kingdoms, who heard about it and came here, too.
When the army of Mt. Spirit Beast College arrived, it attracted a lot of attention. After all, there were plenty of cadets within the college that were descendants of the Great Clans of the Divine Martial Kingdom and the Great Xia Kingdom. They must surely have their expert guards following them around, making it even more dangerous within the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch.
There was still two days before the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch would open. The college’s group set up camp at a small pond nearby the tomb. The college had over a thousand individuals, and there were three Soul Travel Realm experts. Those that initially wanted to set up camp here knew well enough that they shouldn’t do it and automatically left.
Many of the female cadets were overjoyed. During the trip, there very little streams; and they loved to be clean. Right now, with all the current conditions, their top priority was naturally to take a bath and have a change of clothes. Guided by a female mentor, they circled around the entire pond and began to bathe in the outdoors. Majority of the male cadets swarmed over like a group of flies.
“This is the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch? There doesn’t seem to be any special traits?”
Jiang Yi, Qian Wanguan, and Zhan Wushuang sat on the plains. Jiang Yi was rather disappointed when he looked at the giant stone wall from afar. This Tomb of the Heaven Monarch didn’t give off any imposing aura that it belonged to a Monarch. Instead, it looked just like an ordinary mound. It did have a gigantic stone wall, and the surface was smooth like a mirror. On it was the flamboyant carvings—Tomb of the Heaven Monarch.
Zhan Wushuang looked over and laughed. “This isn’t the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch; the true tomb is inside. You will know once you get in. This is just the gates for us to enter.
“There are still two days before the opening of the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch!”
Qian Wanguan suddenly interrupted with his vulgar speech, “Boss. Let me arrange a beauty for you to play with? To relax?”
Zhan Wushuang rolled his eyes at Qian Wanguan and was rather speechless. Jiang Yi, on the other hand, knew what Qian Wanguan was thinking about. He was afraid that once Jiang Yi entered the tomb and died, Jiang Yi would have died as a virgin.
“You go ahead and enjoy. I shall go cultivate.”
Jiang Yi stood up cheerfully and entered a nearby tent. He was about to break through to the seventh stage of the Cast Tripod Realm. He wanted to make full use of these two days for a final spurt.
…
The result was disappointing. Jiang Yi cultivated with his life on the line for two days and still wasn’t able to successfully break through to the seventh stage of the Cast Tripod Realm. But once he came out of seclusion, he received two more pieces of bad news!
The first news brought by Qian Wanguan was that Jiang Yiliu was using the elites from the Western Garrison Army. They did not know what their exact numbers were or where they were hiding. But this news had been confirmed to be authentic.
Secondly, Zhangsun Wuji found a tier-two pinnacle-grade demonic beast, Shadow Dragon, in the Ten-Thousand Dragon Valley. He had successfully tamed it as his spirit beast. This Shadow Dragon’s speed had always been the nightmare for martial artists, and its strength was sufficient to defeat most Purple Mansion Realm martial artists.
“Shadow Dragon? That’s right… most of the cadets within the college have spirit beasts, right? Why don’t I see any of them being brought along?”
Jiang Yi heard of this news and asked with some doubt. All Elite Cadets were able to obtain the arts of the taming spirit beasts, and they would normally bring their tamed beasts to assist in their battles. When he was at the college, it was rare that he would see people walking around with their spirit beasts.
“Boss. You don’t even have such general knowledge?”
Qian Wanguan rolled his eyes and explained: “Not only will the college bestow the secret art of taming beasts to the Elite Cadets, but they will also give them a Spirit Beast Talisman. Within this Spirit Beast Talisman is a small space that can be used to store the spirit beast. Spirit beasts are the secret weapons of our college, a trump card. Only a fool will randomly reveal their spirit beast to brag and show off. Most martial artists will conceal their spirit beasts and only release them out during battles—to assist in their combat…”
“So this is how it is!”
Jiang Yi suddenly realized something, but he put on a guard, too. If he was to meet a cadet of the college, he had to be on guard in an event his opponent would suddenly release a spirit beast—it might catch him unprepared.
“Shh-shh-shh!”
A lady walked over from a distance, and Qian Wanguan patted on Jiang Yi’s shoulder. “There is still one more day before the tomb’s opening. Boss, take this opportunity to finish up this chick. You will not have any more regrets then…”
“Get lost!”
Jiang Yi kicked Qian Wanguan away with a single boot while Zhan Wushuang was tactful enough to leave by himself. Jiang Yi then turned his head to look indifferently at the lady who was walking over. He sighed in his heart when he saw her yellow dress and her figure of a pretty butterfly. Was there any meaning for Ji Tingyu to come looking for him at this juncture? Since she had the ulterior motives to hook up with Jiang Yiliu or Zhangsun Wuji, she should know that they could never be friends in the future.
“Jiang Yi!”
Ji Tingyu walked over lightly, and her eyes were extremely serious. She bit her red lips and said, “Are you really going in? You are going to die if you enter.”
Jiang Yi didn’t reply but just looked at her calmly. He felt rather perplexed when he looked at the no.1 beauty of the Skyplume City and also the first young miss from a major clan that actually regarded him highly.
“Sigh, I know there is nothing else I can say to make you change your mind!”
Ji Tingyu sighed subtly and suddenly leaned over. She opened her arms and wanted to hug Jiang Yi.
“Huh…”
Jiang Yi’s body froze instinctively as he got a whiff of a lady’s fragrance. His immediate reaction was to dodge, but he stood in place when he heard Ji Tingyu said, “Don’t move, there are people observing us in the vicinity.”
Ji Tingyu didn’t truly hug Jiang Yi, and this didn’t make him feel awkward. But her small mouth went beside Jiang Yi’s ears and let out a flowery presence which caused Jiang Yi to tremble.
“Once you enter the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch, the first thing you need to do is to hide. Jiang Yiliu brought over a few hundreds of men from the Western Garrison Army. Once you are surrounded, you won’t be able to survive.”
Ji Tingyu finished her statement and lightly patted on Jiang Yi’s back. She then backed off and sighed, “If you are to die. I will burn you some hell notes for this by next year, on the same date as today.”
“Thanks!”
As Ji Tingyu walked away, Jiang Yi’s body still lingered with her fragrance. His heart felt ever more complex when he looked at that beautiful back view.
A horn-blowing sound was suddenly heard.
After a series of horn blows, Jiang Yi shook his head and didn’t continue thinking. He looked over at the empty space and saw the college gathering the cadets as the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch was about to open.
“Boss! Come back alive, and I will be waiting here.” Qian Wanguan appeared out of nowhere like a phantom and looked at Jiang Yi with passionate eyes.
Jiang Yi nodded and smirked. “Wanguan, if I don’t die this time; and if I am to have any achievements in the future, anyone who dares to touch you will have their entire family eradicated!”
Cadets from all around headed towards the empty space and waited for the Tomb of the Heaven Monarch to open. Jiang Yi took another look at Qian Wanguan before resolutely heading over.
Qian Wanguan saw Jiang Yi left, and after he was far away, Qian Wanguan muttered to himself with a solemn expression, “Jiang Yi. The reason why my Qian Clan could become one of the Seven Great Clans and not be eradicated after ten thousand years… was not just because of our wealth, but because our clan has this mystical secret art of judgment. My secret art of judgment might not be at the elite class, but I have the utmost confidence that I didn’t make a mistake. Your final battle… definitely isn’t such a small place like this Tomb of the Heaven Monarch!”
