Fury Towards The Burning Heaven - Chapter 99: Exposed Identity
Chapter 99: Exposed Identity
After Su Ruoxue’s patient explanation, Jiang Yi finally understood the entire situation. But as he listened, he got flustered.
The day that he made contact with the restriction on the Divine Monument, he felt as though he realized something within his heart; but it was blurry. He didn’t expect himself to really have the realization of the Massacre Intent. He even used it at the most crucial timing to slay the Ice Beast.
According to Su Ruoxue, when his Massacre Intent was released, the Ice Beast didn’t even dare to move and was easily slain by him. Jiang Yi was skeptical since he went into a frenzied state by then. He didn’t know what was he doing and why such a formidable beast like the Ice Beast was frightened by his killing aura.
He then figured Su Ruoxue had no reason to deceive him, and there was indeed nothing worthy from him either. Combined with the vague feeling within his heart, Jiang Yi was certain that he had realized the Massacre Intent. But… he didn’t know how to utilize it.
“Jiang Yi!”
Jiang Yi’s train of thought was called back by a shout from Su Ruoxue. He turned to look at Su Ruoxue and saw her serious expression when she spoke, “The reason why I told the others that I was the one who had slain the Ice Beast wasn’t to claim your credit… but to help you conceal the truth. You must have guessed it by now: if anyone knew that you have realized the Massacre Intent, you will be in grave danger. So… before you have the strength to protect yourself, it is better to keep it a secret and not tell anyone… understand?”
“I understand!”
Jiang Yi nodded with gratitude, knowing that Su Ruoxue was trying to protect him right now. It seemed like him risking his life had won her favorable impression. He then moaned before shamelessly asking, “Mentor Su, can I ask you a favor?”
Su Ruoxue was startled but quickly nodded. “Say it then. As long as it isn’t excessive.”
“En!”
Jiang Yi was delighted. He quickly asked, “I am sure you have heard of this in Skyplume City. The reason why I withdrew from the tournament was that my servant girl had been kidnapped. She even got poisoned by a peculiar poison on the Western Hills and had been in a coma still. The reason why I entered the Mt. Spirit Beast College was to look for that heaven-tier healer for treatment. Would you… be able to help recommend me to him?”
“Huh…”
Su Ruoxue’s beautiful eyes flashed. The reason why she guided Jiang Yunhai back at Skyplume City was precisely because she saw Jiang Yi as someone who put his relationships and justice as top priorities. He could forsake his future for a servant girl, and she didn’t expect him to be in the college for his servant girl, too.
“You want the assistance from Master Liao? This might be a difficult task.”
Su Ruoxue’s expression grew dignified as she muttered for a moment before explaining, “Master Liao is currently not in the college. He went to the royal city, Heaven Star City; he would only be back after at least half a year. Most importantly… this Master Liao has an eccentric temperament. He didn’t give any respect to anyone besides Principal Zhuge. There was once when a Clan Head of a major clan from the Divine Martial Kingdom, asking him for help. The Clan Head even asked a Vice Principal to do him a favor, but they ultimately couldn’t fulfill his request: he didn’t offer any treatment.”
Jiang Yi panicked. He looked at Su Ruoxue anxiously and asked, “Then… is there any other way?”
“There is always a way.”
Su Ruoxue clenched her teeth and replied, “Don’t be anxious and diligently cultivate first. For now, achieve the rank of an Elite Cadet and wait for Master Liao to return. I will try asking Principal Qi to help us in getting his assistance. Master Liao has very high standards. If you aren’t even an Elite Cadet, you will most probably not be even allowed to step into his courtyard…”
“Elite Cadet? Okay!”
Jiang Yi nodded his head seriously. He would even give up his life for Jiang Xiaonu—let alone to diligently cultivate.
…
For the next few days, Jiang Yi went back to his regular days. He would go hunting for demonic beasts with Su Ruoxue daily. Apart from hunting, he would only eat and sleep. For the rest of his time, he would be on cultivation. He even had been nicknamed ‘cultivation maniac’ by Qian Wanguan.
Jiang Yiliu went silent, and Jiang Qilin didn’t create any more trouble. It was strange that even Zhangsun Feihu kept quiet. It seemed like everyone forgot about Jiang Yi and forgot about all the unhappy encounters with him.
They didn’t come finding trouble while Jiang Yi was happy to have peaceful days, too. He would either be in the college or out with Su Ruoxue to hunt demonic beasts. Even if they wanted to look for trouble, there wasn’t any opportunity. They couldn’t go find another Ice Beast, right? If they were to do that, Principal Zhuge would definitely find someone to execute.
Time passed as Qian Wanguan slept soundly with Jiang Yi cultivating non-stop through day and night. In a blink of an eye, two months had passed; and the college was in an unbelievable serenity.
The one huge incident was that Zhan Wushuang challenged five Elite Cadets and was successfully promoted to the Elite Cadet rank.
There was another thing that was worth mentioning: the rank no.1 Prodigy Cadet of the college had returned and caused a disturbance among the young masters. Because this cadet was a lady, and she was the princess who had an extraordinary status from the South, Heaven Mystics Kingdom. This female cadet wasn’t just top one in combat strength among all cadets but had unparalleled beauty, too. Among the college’s top ten beauties, she was only one rank below Su Ruoxue.
Jiang Yi wasn’t interested in such matters. To him, such princesses or young misses were of different worlds from him. He wasn’t interested in them; neither did he want to enter their world.
What interested Jiang Yi was that Ji Tingyu actually made it into the top ten beauties of the college and was ranked no.5. Those that tried to pursue her were as many as the carps in the river—maybe even countless. Ji Tingyu’s methods were brilliant, too. She played around with those young masters, but no one ever got her in their hands.
Jiang Yi was now sure that Ji Tingyu’s target was the Young Clan Head of the Zhangsun Clan—Zhangsun Wuji—or Jiang Yiliu. Not only did she have exceptional looks, but she also had rather good talent and devil-like intelligence. Regular young masters would definitely not want to pursue her.
But no matter who Ji Tingyu chooses in the end, she would still be going against Jiang Yi. Jiang Yi let out a long sigh in his heart. He didn’t have a lot of friends and was soon going to lose one of them.
Two months!
Jiang Yi had tried countless times to release the Massacre Intent, but none succeeded. Su Ruoxue advised him to take full control of the Massacre Intent, but he couldn’t even find the ‘gate.’
Today was yet another fine sunny day without any clouds for miles.
Jiang Yi woke up early, and the first thing he saw was still the round and plump face of Qian Wanguan. But today, this face didn’t have a smile and was rather imposing.
“Two things!”
Qian Wanguan didn’t beat around the bush and said seriously, “Firstly, someone went looking for Jiang Yunhai last night, and it was definitely someone from the Western Garrison Residence. If Jiang Yunhai’s identity had been exposed, your identity should have been exposed, too. According to Jiang Yunhai’s guesses, Jiang Yiliu should be the one that investigated on you—but Jiang Bieli didn’t know about this matter yet. Don’t worry, Jiang Yunhai and your servant girl are safe; and my men are protecting them from nearby…”
Jiang Yi’s expression looked severe. If Jiang Yiliu knew of his identity, he would definitely use all methods to eliminate him! The Western Garrison Liege Lord didn’t need another prince, and it would mean more danger for him in the future. Jiang Yiliu might even risk it to make a move within the college.
Jiang Yi’s eyes flickered while thinking of ways to neutralize this crisis. The only way was to announce his true identity to the world so Jiang Yiliu couldn’t assassinate him and even had to protect him. Or else, if he was to die, everyone would think that it was Jiang Yiliu who made the move.
But did he want to expose his identity?
Obviously not. Not only did he not want to expose his identity, but he was even ashamed to be an illegitimate son. Not only did he not want to acknowledge his father, but he even wanted to grab him to kneel and repent in front of his mother’s grave.
“Dog sh*t!”
Jiang Yi cursed silently. What he needed the most now was time. If he had enough time—not to mention Jiang Yiliu—he wouldn’t even be afraid of Jiang Bieli. A pity… Jiang Yiliu would obviously not give him sufficient time!
