Chapter 293: Horribly Punished (Cont.)
White Ape was currently at the size of a male adult human so it was no wonder that the group felt confident.
Since scheming didn’t work, they would just fight it head-on.
White Ape didn’t hold back this time, performing incredible counters with ease. As one of the hunting dogs came close, White Ape’s large hand darted out to grab the creature by its neck. With a pinch of his fingers, the hunting dog’s neck snapped.
The cracking sound of bones snapping was clear enough for everyone to hear.
Next, White Ape raised a fist as the wind howled around it. Following a loud bam, he crushed the incoming tiger’s skull into pieces.
Like splitting a watermelon open with bare hands, bits of red and white splattered everywhere. The sight was unimaginably gruesome and gross.
It only took one moment for White Ape to end two beasts. Until bits of the tiger’s brains splattered onto the hunters’ and young masters’ faces, only then did they snap to their senses.
“Something’s wrong with this white ape.”
“It’s not normal. We can’t fight it.”
“Run!”
At least they came to quickly. By killing two beasts at lightning speed, White Ape exhibited his invincible strength, letting the humans know that they had made a grave mistake.
All that talk about laying siege and absolute confidence shattered right before the pools of blood and beast corpses in front of them, popping like bubbles.
They were no match for this beast so it only made sense to run.
But would White Ape let them escape?
They tried to sneak arrow attacks at him, drug him, even wanted to kill him to remove his fur. White Ape clearly wouldn’t have it.
He let out a raging roar, baring his sharp teeth. His roar shook the forest that even the villages near the forest could hear him.
Like a mind-numbing bolt of thunder, some frightened children even started crying.
Even those dozens of miles away got flustered, much less these five people in the forest.
White Ape’s roar simply made their heads spin and their vision blur. They couldn’t even walk straight. When they turned to look back, the hunters and young masters practically had their souls frightened out of their bodies.
Their remaining three pet beasts had all fallen to the ground. One of them was even snapped into two and that bloody scene wasn’t something they could bear to look at.
“Oh no, we won’t be able to escape!”
From his abundant experience, the hunters knew that they would die here today. Forget meeting one, they had never even heard of a beast that could massacre other beasts like they were mere vegetables.
They had heard that Young Master Fan’s pet beast was a Rank 3, but the creature was instantly killed on its first exchange with the ape.
That was too scary.
As a thought came to mind, one of the hunters stopped running and fell to his knees, shuddering as he prostrated.
The other hunter did the same.
They suddenly recalled their ancestor’s advice, that if they ever came across any strange beasts in the wilderness, they had to be careful in distinguishing these creatures. Most of them weren’t beings they could afford to mess with.
And that included this talking wild beast.
As they were blinded by money earlier, they forgot these words of wisdom. Now that they were frightened, the hunters abruptly recalled instead.
The three young masters still planned on running. However, White Ape flashed them an eerie grin before making a sweeping gesture, giving rise to a tempest. Young Master Fan, Zhao Xi, and Huang Yan felt their bodies become light and the world around them spin before crashing heavily down onto the ground.
Among the three, Huang Yan had the best physical constitution so he leaped up at once. What he saw was the white ape now only one foot away from him.
In this short distance, a huff from the white ape’s nostrils could flutter his long hair.
Huang Yan heard buzzing noises in his head as he stood frozen to the spot.
He didn’t understand. They had run more than a hundred feet away just now so how did they end up back here again? And what was that strange tempest earlier?
Huang Yan was considerably braver. At least he didn’t wet his pants.
Just as White Ape was about to make a move, something darted over from within the forest. That thing was huge but it wasn’t the silhouette of a human.
Turning around to take a look, the hunters almost keeled over from shock.
That incoming thing was actually a coffin.
Of course, a coffin couldn’t move on its own. Instead, many tentacles protruded from the coffin, acting as limbs as if a giant crab was making its way over.
Problem was, normal people weren’t used to seeing something like this. Just one glance and the hunters couldn’t take the suspense anymore. They simply blacked out.
Due to their pet beasts’ tragic death, they also suffered feedback through their blood contracts. To be frightened on top of suffering severe injuries, it was only normal that they would pass out.
The three young masters were a jumbled mess after falling down so they didn’t notice the coffin. Otherwise, they might have fainted along with the hunters upon seeing it.
Seeing Zombie Cthulhu make his way over, White Ape made no further actions. He also felt a little guilty as well and glanced around. Sure enough, he saw Lin Jin standing somewhere nearby.
White Ape was shocked.
He had no idea when Lin Jin got here.
But the man must have just arrived. His attention had been drawn by Zombie Cthulhu earlier so White Ape must have overlooked Lin Jin’s arrival.
This was White Ape’s assumption. Ignoring this Young Master Huang, White Ape took two steps toward Lin Jin and bowed. “Master Lin, I…”
Indeed, Lin Jin had only just arrived. It was he who summoned Zombie Cthulhu over. When he was viewing the scenery from Mount Gua’s peak, Lin Jin already noticed what was happening here to White Ape.
At first, Lin Jin assumed that average folks would just run away in fear after encountering White Ape. Based on White Ape’s personality, if no one provoked him, he wouldn’t try to mess with anyone.
Yet, these people here had been strangely abnormal and their desire for trouble was on a whole new level.
Lin Jin had no choice but to come over.
Although White Ape wasn’t at fault, simply killing them wasn’t appropriate. Murdering wasn’t beneficial for cultivation and the situation wasn’t severe enough to warrant their deaths anyway.
Moreover, with the likes of these guys, even if White Ape just stood there and let them hit him, these men couldn’t even give White Ape a scratch.
Lin Jin waved at White Ape. “It’s alright, you’re not at fault.”
The words ‘you’re not at fault’ immediately eased White Ape’s worries.
Lin Jin glanced at the group. Both hunters had fainted while the other three were in bad shape due to the fall. After all, being swept up by White Ape’s Wind Manipulation and left to fall from a significant height did serious damage even to healthy and fit youngsters. Among the three, while one of them was only mildly injured, of the other two, one broke his leg and the other broke his arm. That should be enough punishment.
“Let’s go!” Lin Jin didn’t reprimand nor praise White Ape. To him, these people asked for it, and allowing them to keep their lives was good enough.
White Ape nodded. By now, Lin Jin had turned and walked away.
Meanwhile, in the young masters’ eyes, this man had only walked a few steps before disappearing from their sight. They couldn’t see him!
What they didn’t know was that Lin Jin had used Camouflage and Floating Footbind to cover a distance of three hundred feet in a brief moment. White Ape leaped up and carried the coffin before jumping away. Everything happened in the blink of an eye. It wasn’t until they were hundreds of miles away that the three young masters regained their senses.
By now, their bodies were covered in sweat.
They were completely drenched.
