Returnee’s Life Report - Chapter 89

89 Two Shooters (2)

======================

I already knew there was a rat in the distance.

I wondered if he could snipe from that far, but he managed to do so.

It was obvious that Cheon-Myeong’s hunters had not noticed that. They’d made a mistake, and that was their loss. But they had to undergo that pain so that they could learn the lesson from it.

I spared him for my interest, but I was quite astonished. I never thought that he could actually snipe from such a far distance. That was incredible.

Raul frowned.

“Taylor, that son of a b****…”

Raul stood up. He knew what would happen. That was enough. I told him the location.

“Direction is North. Approximately 25 km away from here.”

Raul smiled and headed in that direction.

Sophie then came over and explained, “Taylor is one of the unique skill holders in the US.”

“I’ve heard of him. I heard that he is a master of the gun.”

“He is. His unique ability is ‘Penetrate.’ With that, he can stop the resistance from his target.”

I didn’t know much about the modern standard, but I knew that there was friction that stopped the bullet.

For him, friction was some sort of resistance. I knew that he could get rid of friction. No matter where the target was, he could assassinate them from a great distance. With this, he could kill anyone.

It might be even more dangerous than nuclear weapons.

I turned my head to see the battle. The fight was almost over.

Hyeon-Soo Park had healing skills, so he was curing Jong-Geun.

Lee Ho and the Godfather were fighting intensely, but it was also about to end.

I put my hand on Yoo-Jeong’s back.

“Let’s get started.”

Kim Yoo-Jeong nodded and prepared to snipe.

They were quiet for a while.

***

A lot of people had allied with the Godfather. Taylor was one of them.

He’d been there for quite a long time, twenty-eight hours.

Taylor was observing everything from the back.

The reason he had allied with the Godfather? It was simple. Powerful people got everything.

By allying with the strongest person, one could get power as well.

Taylor thought that the Godfather was the strongest. Even if Raul and Lee Ho were chasing after him, the Godfather was still stronger.

He didn’t think that either of them could defeat the Godfather when he used his unique ability.

That was it.

He saved Alan, who was about to get killed by Jong-Geun, though, to be honest, he’d been aiming at Jong-Geun’s head. It was strange—the direction had changed for a bit. It was due to Lee Hwan’s assistance, but there was no way for Alan to know that.

He did not care. All he had to do was shoot once more.

He could see that Alan was sighing with relief.

Hyeon-Soo was heading to Jong-Geun to heal him. To be sure, he was using a shield to protect them.

Taylor thought that was a wise choice.

He’d noticed that Hyeon-Soo would become as strong as Alan. Hong Jong-Geun would be stronger than that. He was ready to kill both of them.

But soon, he heard a crashing sound from an unexpected direction. He could see a man running.

It was Raul Albanes. He was rushing rapidly.

“What the fuc—”

That made him swear. Why was Raul here? Wasn’t he in London?

Taylor was not a fool. He checked every place, but he could not sense anything from the point where Raul was.

Could it be aura distortion?

Taylor was not sure. He hadn’t even noticed that. What kind of monster could use that?

Could it be Hwan Lee?

Taylor was frightened. That meant that Lee Hwan had known of his presence from the beginning.

Taylor gulped.

He was allied with the Godfather, but his priority was his life.

Raul was rushing toward him like a bull, crashing through everything on his way. For him, it would be wisest to give up. He stood.

Soon, Raul landed in front of him. He had made it there by destroying every obstacle in his way.

What a monster.

Raul asked, “What the h*** are you?”

“…What do you mean?”

“Are you the Godfather’s man?”

“You know that my hobby is hiking. This is just a coincidence.” Taylor said it with confidence.

“Coincidence?”

“Yes, coincidence. I helped Alan since he was being attacked. It’s nothing more or less. I honestly thought that man-lion was a monster. Was it Hong Jong-Geun? I didn’t know that. I should apologize to him later.”

Raul glanced at Taylor.

“Also, I’m the one who should be surprised. I just helped some SS-rated hunters who were in danger. Yet, you just asked whether I’m one of them. I distorted the bullet after noticing that. Didn’t you see that? Also, when did you arrive here? I’m quite…”

“Take your clothes off.”

Taylor frowned. “What?”

“I said, take all your clothes off. Let me check if you have a tattoo.”

“…Do you mean it?”

“Do it before I do it by force. Usually, I do what I want, when I want to. But the woman I like told me to think before I act. So I’m giving you a chance. Else, I’ll do it by…”

“Nonsense. I’m the same as you. A unique skill holder from America. We are supposed to be allies who should trust each other. What is all this?”

‘Keep speaking bullshit, huh?’ Raul smirked.

He’d mentioned trust. Raul had heard everything from Hwan. He might be a fool, but he wasn’t an idiot. Taylor had lied twice. Hiking was his hobby? That was one of the funniest pieces of bullshit Raul had ever heard.

That was enough.

“Just die, you b**tard.”

Soon, Taylor disappeared. It was teleportation.

Raul slowly turned his head. He was thinking about Hwan’s advice.

Raul closed his eyes. He focused. The shield covering him cracked, but it wasn’t broken; it was moving.

If he concentrated his shield and made it sharp, it could become the strongest spear.

Meanwhile, Taylor lowered his body and got ready to snipe.

[ Skill ‘High Focus’ is activated. ]

Temporary tile, ‘Der Freischütz’ is activated. ]

Because of the Godfather’s advice, Taylor had decided to be his ally. No one had ever taught like him.

He could spot Raul. He was still standing in the same spot.

That fool planned to block the bullet with his body and rush until he got closer. No need to hesitate. The bullets were fired.

The bullet was abnormally fast since Taylor removed friction through his ability. In addition, the bullet was accelerating.

It was about to reach Raul’s head.

Yet Taylor was shocked to see Raul grabbing his bullet from out of the air.

His response had been incredibly quick. He also had incredible durability.

Taylor’s bullet was the strongest in the world. Grabbing it should have torn Raul apart.

According to Sophie, Taylor’s power was more than 20M. In addition, he put all of his aura into that bullet.

However, that bullet had been stopped.

Raul opened his eyes and threw the bullet back at Taylor.

Taylor should have teleported, but he could not respond in time. The bullet was way faster than his shot had been.

It hit Taylor. Those were his last moments.

Before his death, he saw that Raul’s arm was red.

And so, Taylor died in that manner.
