Chapter 122: Don’t Give Your All

Chapter 122: Don’t Give Your All

Su Huiqing didn’t know the usher was pitying her. With one hand holding her number card and the other shoved in her pocket, she just observed her surroundings curiously.

So Chi Qing’s daily life was like this.

Many people had come to partic.i.p.ate in the audition for the leading lady. There were many second and third-tier celebrities standing around waiting, as well as some young starlets who recently found fame online.

Even more so, there were countless acting newbies from all over the country.

Su Huiqing attracted everyone’s attention the moment she entered the hall.

Her face was too dazzling, her aloofness and unique aura too outstanding.

In the entire arena only one spot appeared slightly less crowded, and it was beside a lady in a long, black dress.

Su Huiqing always liked to be alone, and so naturally gravitated to that spot.

She didn’t see the others watching her, with obvious glee for her impending rejection.

But then she would not have cared even if she noticed.

“Have you also come to partic.i.p.ate in the auditions?” The lady clad in black was extremely beautiful.

She was already very well-known among the entertainment circles.

Su Huiqing plugged in one of her earphones and glanced at the person. She nodded. “Yeah.”

Mildly intrigued, Angie gave a slight smile. “Don’t you know who I am?”

Su Huiqing was slightly taken aback. She looked more closely at Angie, her face remaining completely expressionless. In the end, she shook her head. “I am sorry, I don’t really follow the entertainment scene.”

“Never mind.” Angie waved off her apologies before lighting a cigarette. She looked at Su Huiqing. “You must be a newbie. Otherwise, with that face of yours, I would have heard of you.”

Su Huiqing smiled and nodded. She didn’t put on her other earphone.

Even when smiling, her eyes remained cold as always.

Angie stared at her face for a while before saying, “What a pity. You should not have come.”

“Why do you say that?” Su Huiqing felt rather amiable toward this lady. She put her hands in her pockets and leaned against the wall.

With those cold, dark eyes of hers, she appeared exceptionally cool.

Angie flicked her cigarette ash with scorn. “Did you see that there are about a thousand people who have come for the auditions. But everyone, including me, has all come just to be fodder for that person.”

Su Huiqing’s cell phone lit up. Chi Qing had sent her a brief description of the character’s background.

She scanned through it, feeling somewhat taken aback.

At the same time, she understood why Director Lu wanted her.

This character… appeared to be totally based on her.

“Who is this person you are talking about?” Su Huiqing kept her phone.

Angie exhaled a puff of smoke. There was some commotion at the front, as someone exited the audition room.

She looked in that direction and said, “Dugu Yan. When she just arrived in Green City, Director Lu threw a welcome bash for her.”

Dugu Yan? Su Huiqing looked at the lady who was surrounded by a bevvy of bodyguards. She didn’t manage to see her face clearly and only saw Dugu Yan’s manager.

Su Huiqing didn’t feel disappointed. She had only come for that illusion herb, anyway.

If she wasn’t selected, Chi Qing would just have to think of other ways to make Director Lu hand it over.

Her number was called soon after.

Su Huiqing had been a spy before. It would not be difficult for her to act like one. She adjusted her mindset right before entering the audition room.

She let herself melt into that character.

Angie extinguished her cigarette and observed Su Huiqing undergoing that instant change.

Dazed, she could nearly see her walking over with b.l.o.o.d.y footprints.

It was a scene in the script.

This was Angie’s second time witnessing a person able to undergo such a change without any need for makeup or costumes.

“You… might be able to succeed.” Angie smiled and patted Su Huiqing on the shoulder. “I believe in you.”

Su Huiqing kept her earphone and coolly said a word of thanks.

Angie couldn’t help sighing as she watched that aloof figure walking away. “What a frosty girl.”

The audition hall was very quiet.

Su Huiqing stood holding her number card.

Someone had just come out and she started to enter.

At that moment, someone called her back.

“What?” Su Huiqing turned slightly, her eyes full of a chilly reserve.

She recognized that the person who had called her was Dugu Yan’s manager.

The person glanced at Su Huiqing and frowned. “Don’t give your all during the audition.”
